Plot Synopsis

For a year, the city of Metropolis has been contained under a dome, nullifying all superpowers. The former Atom, Ray Palmer, has been living a subdued, human life, but he exhibits one strange anomaly: he retains a limited, strange power to make only his right hand grow to a massive size. This peculiar ability, coupled with a constant, disembodied voice in his head, makes the public believe he is going insane. 

• The Struggle with Sanity: Ray is visibly frustrated by his condition and the persistent voice, which he argues with publicly. During a live television interview, he is about to confront the voice (and potentially Deathstroke, who has been living undercover in the city) when the dome is suddenly lifted.
• The Tournament: The entity Telos announces the "tournament of cities" where different timelines must fight for survival.
• The Fight: Ray is immediately teleported away from his confrontation with Deathstroke and pitted against Barracuda of Angor (an Aquaman analogue from Earth-8).
• The Revelation: Ray defeats Barracuda using his restored full powers, and the mysterious voice in his head is revealed to be Ryan Choi, his successor who was previously thought dead. Ryan has been trapped and communicating with Ray all along.
