Plot Synopsis

The story is set during the year the city of Gotham is trapped under a mysterious dome by Brainiac, which nullifies all metahuman powers.

• A Powerless Life: Barry Allen, who was visiting Gotham for a charity event when the dome fell, is trapped far from his home and his wife, Iris West, in the 30th Century. Without his connection to the Speed Force, Barry takes a job with the Gotham City Police Department's crime lab, using his CSI skills to help solve crimes in a city where the crime rate has skyrocketed. He frequently attempts to run, hoping to regain his powers, but to no avail.
• The Dome Drops: After a year of being powerless, the dome suddenly disappears. Barry feels his connection to the Speed Force return, and he rapidly becomes faster. Overjoyed, he puts on his Flash uniform and races to discover the truth about their situation. He has a brief, friendly conversation with his old friend Bruce Wayne during this period of powerlessness and return to form.
• The First Foe: As Barry takes a high vantage point to survey the planet Telos (the sentient planet hosting the event), he is confronted by his first opponent in the forced tournament: Superman from the Tangent Universe, who also just had his powers restored. This version of Superman is a powerful foe who thinks faster than the Flash can run, setting up a unique challenge.
