Cyborg # 1 (released September 21, 2016) is the debut of the second ongoing solo series for Victor Stone, published as part of the DC Rebirth initiative. Written by John Semper Jr. with art by Will Conrad, the issue launches the "Imitation of Life" story arc. 

"The Imitation of Life" 

The story centers on Cyborg’s deep internal struggle regarding his humanity. 

• The Conflict: Victor Stone is thrown into conflict with a variety of robotic threats to the DC Universe.
• Identity Crisis: Victor begins questioning his own identity after a shocking discovery about his origins. The narrative asks whether Victor Stone is a man who saved his life with cybernetic implants or a machine that merely believes it is a man.
• The Threat: While Victor's father, Dr. Silas Stone, seemingly fails to recognize him, a mysterious cybernetic entity prepares to launch a war between humans and machines.
• New Characters: The issue features the first appearance of Blue Evans and a cameo by Mekanique.  
• Writer: John Semper Jr. (known for Spider-Man: The Animated Series).
• Artists: Will Conrad (pencils/inks) and Ivan Reis (promotional/cover art).
• Format: A 32-page, full-color comic book rated Teen.
