• The Decision: After a string of wins that revitalized his career, the Fixer demands that Jack take a dive in a championship bout with Carl "Crusher" Creel.
• The Final Fight: Knowing his son Matt is watching in the audience, Jack refuses to throw the fight. He wins the match, making his son proud, but sealing his own fate.
• The Outcome: In retaliation for the betrayal, Sweeney's men murder Jack in an alley after the fight, a seminal event that drives Matt Murdock to become Daredevil and seek justice.
