Dark Knight III: The Master Race # 5 2016 NM-

Dark Knight III: The Master Race # 5 published by DC Comics on June 29, 2016, is the fifth chapter of the nine-issue limited series co-written by Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello. The issue is titled "The Master Race, Book 5" and features the return of a major ally as Batman prepares for war against the Kryptonian invaders. 

• The War on Earth: Gotham City is under attack by the Kandorian Kryptonian army, led by the zealot Quar.
• The Return of Superman: Carrie Kelley and Aquaman travel to the Arctic to find Superman, who has been trapped in a frozen state in his rebuilt Fortress of Solitude. Carrie frees him using a golden needle provided by Batman.
• Synthetic Kryptonite: Back in Gotham, the Flash (Barry Allen) is attached to a computer to manipulate the weather. Using power from the Bat-Signal, he creates a rain of synthetic kryptonite that weakens the Kryptonian forces, causing them to fall from the sky by the hundreds.
• The Battle: Batman, a rejuvenated Superman (clad in a kryptonite-resistant suit of armor), and the citizens of Gotham engage the fallen Kandorians in a massive brawl.
• Minicomic: Like others in the series, this issue includes a 16-page backup story titled Dark Knight Universe Presents: Lara #1, which explores Superman's daughter, Lara, and her complicated relationship with the Kryptonian Baal.
