Dark Knight III: The Master Race # 8 released on March 29, 2017, is the penultimate issue in the miniseries. The story focuses on the brutal war between the invading Kryptonians and the Amazons on Themyscira, while also dealing with the immediate aftermath of Batman's resurrection. 

• The Amazonian War: The issue's main focus is the invasion of Themyscira by Baal's Kryptonian army. The Kandorians learn a deadly lesson as their powers are ineffective against the Amazons' magically imbued weapons and fighting spirit, resulting in a bloody battle. Wonder Woman leads the charge and, despite initial fears, the Amazons hold their own against the invaders.
• Batman Reborn: Following his mortal wounding in the previous issue, Batman (Bruce Wayne) is resurrected in a Lazarus Pit by Superman. He emerges younger and in his physical prime, though initially angry at Superman for exposing him to the pit's effects.
• A New Nuclear Threat: The battle on Themyscira is interrupted when the Flash contacts Superman and Wonder Woman to warn them of a new threat: the remaining Kryptonian leader, Quar, and his forces have ingested nuclear bombs and are initiating a final countdown, requiring the heroes to return to "Man's World" to prevent nuclear armageddon.
• Minicomic: The issue includes a 16-page backup mini-comic, Dark Knight Universe Presents: Detective Comics #1, where Batman and Batgirl save Commissioner Yindel from a new group of Joker-inspired thugs known as the Joker Boys.
