Dazzler # 1 published in March 1981, is a significant historical issue as it was Marvel's first comic book distributed exclusively through the Direct Market, bypassing traditional newsstands. 

• Story: In "So Bright This Star," Alison Blaire (Dazzler) attempts to launch her singing career at a New York disco. She wins a gig over a disguised Enchantress, leading to a magical "Disco Diva Battle".
• Key Appearances: Features guest stars Spider-Man, the Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Beast, Hawkeye, Wasp), and the X-Men (Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Sprite).
