DC vs. Vampires # 1 2021 NM

DC vs. Vampires # 1, released on October 26, 2021, is the debut of a 12-issue Elseworlds limited series written by James Tynion IV and Matthew Rosenberg with art by Otto Schmidt. It reimagines the DC Universe in the grip of a secret, coordinated vampire invasion that turns allies into lethal enemies. 

"The Night of the Vampire" 

The story follows Andrew Bennett (I, Vampire), who arrives at the Hall of Justice badly injured to warn the Justice League that a vampire coup has occurred. 

• The Coup: Bennett reveals that Mary, Queen of Blood, who long maintained a truce with humans, has been murdered. A new, more aggressive leader has taken control of the vampire nation.
• Lex Luthor’s Role: Before his own death, Lex Luthor entrusted Bennett with a possible cure and crucial intel, identifying a secret address for help.
• The Traitor Within: While at the Hall of Justice, Bennett is confronted by Hal Jordan (Green Lantern). In a shocking twist, Hal reveals he is already a vampire. He murders Bennett and the Wonder Twin Zan to protect the invasion's secrecy.
• Batman’s Vigilance: The issue concludes with Batman receiving a separate warning from Bennett via Alfred. He begins gathering the Bat-Family, deeply suspicious of a broader infiltration in the superhero community. 
• Andrew Bennett: The vampire messenger who attempts to sound the alarm.
• Hal Jordan: The primary antagonist reveal of the first issue.
• Batman: The hero who first begins to suspect the true scale of the threat.
• Zan: One of the earliest heroic casualties of the war.
