Demon Knights # 1 2011 NM-

Demon Knights # 1 2011 titled "Seven Against The Dark," launched a unique sword-and-sorcery series as part of DC’s The New 52 initiative. Published on September 14, 2011, it was written by Paul Cornell with art by Diógenes Neves and Oclair Albert. 

Set in the Dark Ages of the DC Universe (circa 1013 AD), the issue begins with a prologue showing the fall of Camelot and Merlin bonding the demon Etrigan to Jason Blood. 

• The Gathering: In the "present day" of the story, various immortal and powerful travelers converge at a tavern in the village of Little Spring.
• The Threat: A barbarian horde led by the Questing Queen and the sorcerer Mordru is sweeping across the land to crush civilization.
• The Transformation: When the horde attacks the village, Jason Blood transforms into Etrigan to defend it, though the demon is primarily interested in his own amusement rather than altruism.

• Madame Xanadu: An immortal sorceress
• Vandal Savage: A younger, more hedonistic version of the immortal villain

• The Horsewoman: A mysterious woman with a spiritual connection to all horses
