Fantastic Four #1 (2025), written by Ryan North, the team is scattered across Earth's history by Doctor Doom, who has become the world's Sorcerer Supreme. Their only hope for reuniting lies in the "Forever Stone," a unique mass of granite that has existed throughout Earth's history and allows them to communicate across time.

The rise of Doom: Before the events of the issue, Doctor Doom gained the title of Sorcerer Supreme after the Blood Hunt storyline, seizing the world and becoming the emperor of a "United Latveria".

The confrontation: In the comic, the Fantastic Four confront Doom in New York City, breaking through his magical defenses and bringing him down. However, Doom rises again and retaliates by magically exiling the team to different eras.

The Forever Stone is a rare geological constant, a dense granite rock that has, by luck, remained intact and accessible throughout most of Earth's history. Reed Richards had previously identified it as a potential failsafe.

Each member is sent to a different time period and must find the stone to signal their location to the others:
Johnny Storm: The Human Torch is sent back furthest in time to a primeval Earth, where oxygen levels are low and there are no plants. Using his computer, he carves the date into the Forever Stone before his strength gives out.

Ben Grimm: The Thing lands in the Cretaceous period and fights dinosaurs to survive before locating the stone and adding his own carving.

Reed Richards: Mister Fantastic is transported to the medieval era. It takes him months to find the Forever Stone, where he discovers the carvings left by Johnny and Ben. He realizes Sue has been sent to the furthest point in the future.

Sue Storm: The Invisible Woman is flung into the distant future at the end of the world, where the sun is dying and all life on Earth is gone. The Forever Stone does not exist in this era, making her mission much more difficult.

In a prior adventure, the team had been briefly scattered and had to construct a "Time Sled". Reed is able to use his ingenuity in the past to "move heaven and earth" and draw Sue's attention to an artificial diamond. With the Time Sled, Sue is able to retrieve Reed, Johnny, and Ben, and they return to the moment of their banishment to face Doom again. However, Doom still overpowers them, and the story indicates their struggle is far from over.
