Gambit # 1 2022 Written by X-Men legend Chris Claremont is a five-issue miniseries that serves as a prequel set during the "Lost Years" of the early 1990s. 

The Untold Prequel 

The story is an "interquel" set specifically between the pages of Uncanny X-Men #267 (1990). 

• The Duo: It focuses on the early partnership between Remy LeBeau (Gambit) and a de-aged Ororo Munroe (Storm), known as "'Ro".
• The Mentor: Gambit acts as a mentor and "fatherly" protector, teaching the young, memory-wiped Storm how to survive as a thief on the streets of New Orleans and Cairo, Illinois.
• The Threat: While they rob the rich, they are hunted by the Shadow King, who seeks to corrupt and control the vulnerable young Storm. 
• Training Exercises: The issue begins with Gambit testing 'Ro’s skills, such as stealing money from a man only to plant it back in his wallet.
