The issue centers on a final, deadly confrontation between Danny Ketch and the villain Blackout.
- The Threat: Released from the hospital by the mysterious organization known as "The Firm," Blackout taunts Danny Ketch, threatening to kill everyone he loves unless Ghost Rider surrenders.
- The Killing of Danny Ketch: Blackout captures Danny’s mother, Francis, and his friend, Jack D'Auria, leading to a battle in Cypress Hills Cemetery. During the fight, Blackout slits Danny Ketch's throat, seemingly killing the human host.
- Vengeance Unbound: Danny's spirit watches as his body transforms into the Ghost Rider. Terrified, Blackout attempts to flee, but Ghost Rider pursues and eventually captures both Blackout and the Firm’s agent, Stern.
- The Aftermath: With the help of the Cypress Hills Jokers (a local youth gang), Ghost Rider seals Blackout and Stern in a crypt. Realizing he cannot risk Danny's life by transforming back, he decides to head to New Orleans to seek help from Johnny Blaze.
- Special Inserts: The original printing features a pop-up gatefold centerfold depicting Ghost Rider fighting Blackout. It also includes pin-ups promoting the upcoming "Midnight Sons" line.
