Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four # 1 Trick-or-Read Edition # 1 October 1, 2025 is a special Halloween promotional reprint of the earlier 2025 one-shot. Distributed for free at participating comic shops, it was part of Marvel's "Trick-or-Read" program designed to introduce new readers to the medium.

Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four # 1 March 26, 2025 is a one-shot comic that serves as the opening chapter of the "Godzilla vs. Marvel" crossover event. Set in the late 1960s—shortly after the events of Fantastic Four #50—the story features a massive clash between Marvel’s "First Family" and the King of the Monsters.

The story begins with Godzilla emerging from the waters of New York City, following a destructive rampage in Tokyo. The Fantastic Four rush to intervene, but their standard attacks prove ineffective against the kaiju's atomic breath and massive scale.

The conflict escalates when a greater cosmic threat arrives: King Ghidorah, who has been imbued with the Power Cosmic as the newest herald of Galactus. Realizing they cannot defeat Ghidorah alone, the Silver Surfer transfers his remaining Power Cosmic to Godzilla. This transformation creates "Cosmic Godzilla," who works alongside the Fantastic Four to defeat Ghidorah and force him to retreat into space.

  • Era and Setting: The story is a non-canonical tale set in the Silver Age of Marvel, specifically styled after the 1960s era of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
  • "Monster Homage" Variant: To celebrate the event, a variant cover by Nick Bradshaw homaged the original 1961 Fantastic Four #1, replacing the monster Giganto with Godzilla.
  • Event Series: This issue was the first of six monthly one-shots where Godzilla battled different Marvel icons, including the Hulk, Spider-Man, and the X-Men, leading into a summer event titled Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe.
  • Writer: Ryan North
  • Artist: John Romita Jr.
  • Inker: Scott Hanna
  • Colorist: Marcio Menyz
