Godzilla vs. Spider-Man # 1 Cover A First Printing 2025 NM

Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 (2025) is a special "throwback" one-shot comic that pits the King of the Monsters against the wall-crawler in a story set during the iconic mid-1980s "Symbiote Saga". It is part of a six-issue series of one-shots titled Godzilla vs. Marvel, where Godzilla faces different Marvel heroes in various historic time periods. 

Plot & Storyline

• The Setting: The story takes place in 1984, shortly after Peter Parker returns from the original Secret Wars with his new black alien costume.
• The Conflict: While Spider-Man is dealing with a typical battle against the Shocker in Manhattan, Godzilla suddenly emerges and begins a rampage through the city.
• The Symbiote Connection: Godzilla is drawn to the alien nature of Spider-Man's black suit. During their battle, Godzilla's powerful roar causes the sonic-sensitive symbiote to detach from Peter. In a major twist, the symbiote briefly attaches to Godzilla, creating a "Venomized Godzilla".
• The Outcome: Spider-Man manages to use the Shocker’s gauntlets to help separate the symbiote from Godzilla. The issue ends with a teaser featuring Eddie Brock discovering a remnant of the symbiote, leading to the birth of a new terror called "Godvenom".
