Story & Character
The series follows Norman Osborn after his "sins" were magically removed by the Sin-Eater, leaving him reformed but haunted by the memories of his past atrocities.
- The Heroic Turn: Seeking to fill the void of his lost identity with good deeds, Norman begins operating as a superhero. The media dubs him the Gold Goblin, a name he initially dislikes because it tethers him to his old persona.
- Internal Conflict: Despite his genuine intent to do good, Norman is plagued by psychological distress and visions of his victims, including Gwen Stacy and his son, Harry Osborn.
- The Plot: In this debut issue, Norman tracks down a new Jack O'Lantern involved in a black-market skeleton trade. He utilizes gold-colored tech and "Danobots" to defeat the villain, eventually being accepted as a hero by onlookers.
