Green Lantern # 100 1998 NM-

Green Lantern #100 (published in July 1998) is a landmark double-sized issue from the third volume of the series. Titled "In Brightest Days Past," it features a significant time-travel storyline where the current Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner, meets his predecessor, Hal Jordan, during the latter's prime. 

Plot Summary

The story marks the beginning of the "Emerald Knights" arc. 

• Accidental Time Travel: While attempting to return to his own time, Kyle Rayner overshoots and lands in the past.
• Team-Up Against Sinestro: Kyle arrives in the middle of a battle between a younger, pre-Parallax Hal Jordan and Sinestro. The two Lanterns join forces to save the Guardians of the Universe on Oa after Sinestro captures them.
• The Cliffhanger: At the end of the issue, as the Guardians attempt to send Kyle back to the future, Sinestro intervenes and pushes Hal Jordan into the portal as well. This results in a younger Hal Jordan being transported to Kyle’s modern era.
