Green Lantern #20, published in May 2013, is a landmark oversized issue that serves as the grand finale to writer Geoff Johns' historic nine-year run on the character. The issue concludes the "Wrath of the First Lantern" crossover and features a massive creative team including lead artist Doug Mahnke alongside several returning legendary artists. 

Plot Synopsis

• The Final Battle: Hal Jordan, having recently become a Black Lantern, returns from the Dead Zone to lead the final assault against Volthoom, the First Lantern.
• Sinestro's Ascension: Sinestro summons the Parallax entity and merges with it to gain the power necessary to defeat Volthoom, eventually taking his revenge on the Guardians of the Universe.
• The First Lantern's Defeat: With the combined efforts of the various Lantern Corps and Hal Jordan summoning Nekron, the First Lantern is ultimately destroyed.
• The Future of the Corps: The issue concludes with a flash-forward to the future, narrated by a mysterious bookkeeper revealed to be Sinestro. It provides "happily ever after" endings for many characters, including Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris, who are shown as grandparents.
• Key First Appearance: This issue features the first cameo appearance of Jessica Cruz, who would later become a major Green Lantern.
