Green Lantern: Dragon Lord #1, published in April 2001, is the first of a three-part "Prestige Format" miniseries that reimagines the Green Lantern mythos within the setting of ancient Feudal China. 

Plot Synopsis

The story, titled "The Glory of Emerald," introduces Jong Li, a monk and mystic who becomes Earth's first Green Lantern. 

• The Origin: Set in ancient China, the story follows Jong Li, a man devoted to selflessness who is granted a powerful green ring by the Guardians of the Universe as an experiment.
• The Conflict: A concubine named Jade Moon seeks sanctuary at Jong Li's temple to escape the corrupt Emperor. Jong Li must decide if he can wield the ring's immense power to save her and her son without being corrupted by that same power.
