Green Lantern/Green Arrow # 1, published in 1983, is the first issue of a seven-issue limited series that reprints the legendary "Hard-Traveling Heroes" run from the early 1970s. Written by Dennis O'Neil with iconic art by Neal Adams, this reprint series on high-quality Baxter paper introduced a new generation to the stories that revolutionized DC Comics by tackling mature social issues. 

Plot Synopsis

The oversized first issue reprints the contents of the original Green Lantern #76 and #77. 

• "No Evil Shall Escape My Sight!": In the lead story, Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) confronts Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) for ignoring the domestic "slums" of Earth while policing the galaxy. He introduces Hal to a group of people living in tenements owned by a greedy slumlord. This encounter leads the Guardians of the Universe to decide they need to experience Earth's humanity firsthand.
• "Journey to Desolation!": The heroes and an "Old-Timer" (a Guardian in human form) travel to a mining town called Desolation. They find the townspeople oppressed by a tyrant named Slapper Soames. Even with Hal's ring power restricted by the Guardians to test his resolve, the heroes work to free a local leader whose songs inspire the people.
