Green Lantern: New Guardians Annual # 1 NM-

Green Lantern: New Guardians Annual #1 (2013) is an interlude issue that shifts focus from Kyle Rayner to other Lanterns as they attempt to recruit allies against the Third Army invasion, a mission that goes wrong when one Green Lantern is exposed as a traitor. 

Main Plot: "The Show Must Go On"

The story is set against the backdrop of the "Rise of the Third Army" event. While Kyle Rayner continues his journey to master the entire emotional spectrum with the Zamarons (Star Sapphires), other "New Guardians" are on a mission to gather allies. 

• The Mission: Carol Ferris (Star Sapphire), Saint Walker (Blue Lantern), and Arkillo (Sinestro Corps member) are tasked by the Zamarons with traveling to a dangerous corner of the universe known as the Tenebrian Dominion. Their goal is to convince the powerful Lady Styx to break her non-interference treaty with the Guardians of the Universe and join the fight against the unstoppable Third Army.
• Betrayal and "The Hunted": They encounter Jediah Caul, a deep-cover Green Lantern operating within the Dominion. Carol is separated from the others and betrayed by one of Caul's smugglers, becoming the newest contestant in "The Hunted," a brutal, reality-TV-style hunting game where she is the prey.
• Rescue and Escape: Unable to use her ring effectively in the game's territory, Carol must survive on her own. Saint Walker and Arkillo use Arkillo's fear-inducing negotiation skills to force Jediah Caul to help them rescue Carol. They eventually reunite and plan their escape, with the issue leading directly into the events of the new series Threshold #1, which further explores this darker, outer space region of the DC Universe.
