Green Lantern/Space Ghost Special #1 is a crossover one-shot published by DC Comics on March 29, 2017, as part of the "DC Meets Hanna-Barbera" initiative. The issue was written by James Tynion IV and Christopher Sebela, with art and colors by Ariel Olivetti. 

Plot Summary

The story follows two of the galaxy's premier "space cops"—Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) and Space Ghost—as they are drawn to a distress signal at the edge of the universe. 

• Dimensional Rift: The two heroes meet through a rift in time and space, initially mistaking each other for enemies and engaging in a brief battle.
• The Planet Perterra: They are marooned on an isolated planet called Perterra, whose xenophobic culture denies the existence of extraterrestrial life or interstellar travel.
• Weapon Swap: Stripped of their primary weapons, the two are forced to swap gear to survive. Space Ghost wields the Green Lantern Power Ring, while Hal Jordan dons Space Ghost’s Power Bands.
• Thematic Conflict: Reviewers from NerdsonTheRocks and Black Nerd Problems note the story serves as a sci-fi allegory for isolationism and misinformation, as the heroes must overcome a society that views them as "fake news". 

Backup Feature: Ruff and Reddy

The issue also includes an 8-page backup story written and illustrated by Howard Chaykin. 

• Reimagining: This story reinterprets the classic cartoon duo Ruff and Reddy as washed-up, hard-luck comedians in a world where anthropomorphic animals live among humans.
• Tone: Unlike the main feature's space adventure, this backup is a satirical, "adult-oriented" take on the characters' rise and fall in the entertainment industry.
