Guardians of Infinity # 1 December 2, 2015 with a February 2016 cover date is an anthology series that unites three generations of the team to face a threat spanning space and time. 

"Millennium: Part One"

The primary narrative follows a modern trio of Guardians—Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax the Destroyer—as they investigate a massive, mysterious structure in space hoping for a lucrative "loot". 

• The Meeting: Inside the structure, they encounter the Guardians 3000 (the original 31st-century team), including Vance Astro, Martinex, Charlie-27, and Nikki.
• The Twist: The two teams discover they are not alone and meet the Guardians 1000, a previously unknown team from the 11th century.
• The Team (Guardians 1000): Led by Stella Nega, this team includes members like Astrolabe, Aerolite, and Tua Zon.
• The Threat: The issue introduces Hermetikus, a powerful being who exists outside of time and has a mysterious connection to the structure and the Guardians of the past. 

Backup Story: "To Be The Man..."

The second half of the issue features a self-contained story following Ben Grimm (The Thing) and Rocket Raccoon. 

• Plot: The duo finds themselves stranded on a planet where the entire culture is modeled after Earth-style professional wrestling.
• Conflict: Ben and Rocket must compete in a life-or-death wrestling match, where the "kayfabe" (fictional performance) rules don't apply and the stakes are survival. 

• Main Story: Written by Dan Abnett with art by Carlo Barberi.
• Backup Story: Written by Jason Latour with art by Jim Cheung.
