Gwenpool #1 2025 NM

Gwenpool #1 May 14, 2025 the first of a five-issue miniseries titled The All-New, All-Deadly Gwenpool) launched a dark, high-stakes relaunch for the reality-warping character. The series is written by Cavan Scott with art by Stefano Nesi. 

Two Gwenpools

The story is built around a major twist: the presence of two distinct versions of "Gwenpool". 

• "Light" Gwenpool: The original fourth-wall-breaking Gwendolyn Poole. She teams up with Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Kate Bishop, and Jeff the Land Shark to battle the alien dragon Fin Fang Foom in New York City. In a signature meta-moment, she uses the white space between comic panels to transform into a giant version of herself to defeat the monster.
• "Dark" Gwenpool: A cold-blooded, brutal assassin who infiltrates a Weapon X facility in the issue's prologue. She is later tasked by a mysterious figure known as "The Great Architect" to eliminate escaped Deathloks. 

At the end of the issue, the "Dark Gwenpool" is unmasked and revealed to be Gwen Stacy, resurrected from the grave and imbued with Weapon X-style healing and combat abilities. This version of Gwen Stacy claims she is the woman Peter Parker "killed" years ago, setting up a deeply personal conflict for Spider-Man. 

• Tone: The comic deliberately contrasts the zany, humorous tone of the original Gwenpool with a grittier, hyper-violent noir atmosphere.
• Art Style: Stefano Nesi’s artwork is noted for its high-energy action and the use of thick shadows to emphasize the dark shift in the series.
• Variants: The issue was released with numerous variant covers, including a special Gurihiru variant that homages the original 2016 run.
