Hawk & Dove Annual # 1, published in September 1990, is a special oversized issue from the "Copper Age" of DC Comics. It is notable for its massive cast, acting as a reunion for the largely forgotten Titans West team. 

Story Synopsis: "The Old Gods and the New" 

The story centers on a rescue mission into a hellish alternate dimension known as the Land of the Unliving. 

• The Crisis: A group of S.T.A.R. Labs scientists is pulled into a portal leading to a necrotic dimension. Hawk (Hank Hall) and Dove (Dawn Granger) are called in to retrieve them.
• The Team-Up: To survive the journey, the duo joins forces with former members of Titans West, including Bumblebee, Mal Duncan, Flamebird, and Golden Eagle.
• The Undead Army: Once inside the dimension, the heroes are swarmed by "dead" DC villains who have been granted physical forms by the realm's dark energy. They must battle resurrected versions of Clayface II, Icicle, Electrocutioner, The Top, Iron Major, and El Papagayo.
• Themes: The issue explores the nature of the "undead" in the DC Universe and tests the leadership skills of Dawn Granger (Dove) as she manages the hot-headed veterans of Titans West.
