Hercules # 1 1984 VF/NM

Hercules # 1 (March 1984), subtitled "My Love is... Green?", launches the second Marvel mini-series for the character, a cosmic adventure that begins with Hercules banished from Olympus to learn humility. 

"My Love is Green?" 

• The Banishment: Zeus, frustrated with his son's arrogant and carousing behavior, banishes Hercules from Mount Olympus and forces him to wander the far reaches of the galaxy until he learns humility.
• Cosmic Adventures: The story follows the "Prince of Power" as he inadvertently becomes a hero on various alien worlds, joined by the Rigellian robot companion Recorder 417.
• The Skrull Model: On the planet Deniciere, Hercules becomes infatuated with a tall, red-headed model named Shasha, only for Recorder 417 to reveal that "she" is actually Skyppi, an outcast male Skrull hiding in plain sight.
• The Cliffhanger: While Hercules helps Skyppi escape an angry mob, a subplot on Olympus reveals that Pluto has arrived to ask Zeus a chilling question, indicating that Zeus's insanity is beginning to manifest and that he intends to murder the other gods.  
• Writer/Artist: Bob Layton wrote, penciled, and inked the entire issue.
• Characters: Key appearances include Hercules, Recorder 417 (first appearance in this series), and the debut of the Skrull Skyppi.
