Impulse Plus Gross-Out # 1 1997 NM-

Impulse Plus Gross-Out #1 (1997), part of the Plus series of team-up one-shots, features a crossover between Bart Allen (Impulse) and the monstrous Gross-Out from the Scare Tactics universe. 

Story Synopsis

The issue, titled "Speed Freak," follows the aftermath of Gross-Out escaping capture. 

• The Encounter: Gross-Out (Philbert Hoskins) crash-lands in Manchester, Alabama, where rumors of a mysterious "bog monster" on the loose begin to spread.
• Power Swap: Impulse attempts to find the creature before the government can, leading to a confrontation in the swamps. During the struggle, Gross-Out inadvertently absorbs some of Bart's super-speed.
• The Resolution: While Phil enjoys the rare ability to run fast and speak at a normal pace, he realizes the power is not his to keep. The two must work together to set things right and return Bart's speed. 

The issue also includes a secondary backup story titled "Paranoid," featuring characters Arnold Burnsteel and Fate.
