Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #1, released on May 14, 2025, marks the highly anticipated return of the original Invincible creative team—writer Robert Kirkman and artist Ryan Ottley—to the franchise. 

Plot & Storyline

Set between issues #19 and #55 of the original Invincible comic run, this series explores a previously "lost" chapter of Battle Beast's history. 

• The Quest for Death: Cursed with an insatiable bloodlust that threatens his own family, Battle Beast (Thokk) travels the cosmos seeking a warrior strong enough to kill him in glorious combat.
• The Sentient Computer: After defeating the Guardians of the Globe on Earth, he retreats to his ship and discovers its computer is sentient. Because he killed the ship's former crew, the computer resents him and agrees to help him find opponents in the hopes that one will finally defeat him.
• The First Challenger: In the debut issue, he faces off against the Colossus of Emsiu, an ancient cosmic scourge, in a brutal, gore-filled battle that showcases Ottley's signature artistic style.
