Justice League: The Atom Project # 1, released on January 1, 2025, is the debut of a six-issue limited series published under DC’s "All-In" initiative. Written by John Ridley and Ryan Parrott with art by Mike Perkins, the series explores a gritty, science-focused fallout from the Absolute Power event. 

"Atomic Collision" 

The story centers on the struggle to manage superpowers after they were stolen by Amanda Waller and subsequently scattered or transformed across the globe. 

• The Mission: Scientists Ray Palmer and Ryan Choi (both known as The Atom) are tasked by the newly reformed Justice League to lead "The Atom Project". This project aims to create the world’s first system for reallocating and backing up superpowers.
• The Manhunt: The issue opens with a manhunt for Nathaniel Adam (Captain Atom), who is on the run from military forces. While most heroes want their abilities back, Captain Atom is desperate to remain de-powered, fearing the volatility of his atomic abilities.
• The Transformation: Through flashbacks, it is revealed that Captain Atom initially volunteered as a "guinea pig" for the Atoms' experiments to restore powers. However, the issue concludes with him escaping custody after Ray Palmer orders the military to open fire on him, revealing that Captain Atom has mysteriously acquired new, dangerous powers that allow him to absorb and amplify any metahuman energy he touches.  
• The Atoms: Ray Palmer and Ryan Choi, who clash over the ethics and realistic expectations of their power-transfer experiments. Both sport new costumes: Ryan in a blue aesthetic and Ray in primarily black and red.
