Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 #1, released by DC Comics on June 4, 2025, is the first issue of a seven-part sequel series that sends the Justice League to the Monsterverse to stop Amanda Waller's dangerous new Task Force X plan.

Storyline Overview

In the aftermath of the first crossover event, Amanda Waller and Task Force X begin a plan to create their own controlled hybrid Titans to defend against future monster attacks on Earth. The Justice League, discovering this dangerous new scheme, follows the Suicide Squad through a portal to the "Legendary Earth" (the Monsterverse) to stop them.

  • The Mission: The Justice League arrives on the Monsterverse Earth and must navigate the dangers of the Hollow Earth and the wider world of the Titans.
  • The Conflict: The League immediately comes into conflict with a territorial Kong, who does not remember them from their previous encounter, and faces the returning Godzilla, King of the Monsters.
  • The Twist: The issue establishes that on this world, the Kryptonians (Superman and Supergirl) are significantly weaker, and a surprise twist ending involves the return of Colonel Lee Shaw (from Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and the Godzilla: Awakening graphic novel), who shoots Waller and takes command of Task Force X.
  • Titanization: The storyline's major new element involves the use of technology and magic to create "titanized" versions of DC heroes and villains, starting with King Shark battling Godzilla in the first issue.
