Katana # 1 2013 VF/NM

Katana # 1 2013 titled "Way of the Outsider," is the debut issue of Katana's first ongoing solo series, published as part of DC Comics' The New 52 initiative. It was released on February 13, 2013. 

The story follows Tatsu Yamashiro, the samurai hero Katana, as she establishes a new home in San Francisco's Japantown. 

• The Quest: Katana is on a noble mission to restore the Outsiders to their former glory while seeking vengeance against those who destroyed her family.
• The Conflict: She is immediately targeted by the Sword Clan, a corrupt group of assassins who claim to be the rightful owners of her mystical Soultaker sword.
• The Villain: She faces off against Coil, a master of the spiral sword who mocks her for her perceived weakness and "servitude" to her husband's soul.
• The Soultaker: The issue explores Katana's struggle for control as her sword—which houses the soul of her late husband, Maseo—begins to act autonomously during battle, becoming dangerously hot and forcing her into actions she did not choose.
