Knight Terrors: Angel Breaker # 1 2023 NM-

Knight Terrors: Angel Breaker # 1, published by DC Comics on July 25, 2023, is the first part of a two-issue miniseries within the larger Knight Terrors crossover event. Written by Tim Seeley and illustrated by Acky Bright, the story follows the relatively new mercenary character, Angel Breaker, as she attempts to navigate a worldwide plague of nightmares. 

The issue begins two weeks before the "nightmare wave" unleashed by the villain Insomnia. Angel Breaker, who possesses a powerful sword she believes is her destiny, seeks to improve her skills by stealing a device known as the "dream serpent". This device, located in an abandoned Kobra safe house, uses the dream powers of John Dee (Doctor Destiny) to access the memories and skills of anyone—including heroes like Wonder Woman. 

To infiltrate the facility, Angel Breaker recruits an old rival, the professional thief Raptor. Together, they parachute into a Kobra base in rural Ohio. As they delve deeper into the base, the global nightmare wave begins, but Angel Breaker remains awake, potentially making her the "final girl" in a world of sleeping heroes. They soon encounter Nanny Gillo, a mysterious and terrifying figure picking off members of the cult.
