Knightmare # 1 1995 VF/NM

Knightmare # 1 , published by Image Comics in February 1995, is a gritty superhero/vigilante comic following the path of Alec Knight, a former mob assassin who seeks redemption through high-tech vengeance. 

The story introduces Alec Knight, once a top enforcer for the mob, who decides to leave his criminal life behind. In retaliation for his betrayal, his former boss, Don Carbone, sends an assassin named Jack Logan to execute him. While Knight survives, his son is murdered and his wife is left in a coma. 

In issue #1: 

• Vigilante Justice: Knight dons a suit of high-tech armor and takes the name Knightmare. He begins a brutal war against his former employers, starting with a massacre of the Pacino crime family.
• The Conflict: His mentor, Caine, berates him for his excessive violence, arguing that he is pursuing revenge rather than true justice.
• Broader Conspiracy: The issue reveals a larger plot involving corrupt U.S. Army generals and the Yakuza, who are attempting to purchase nuclear weapons from the former Soviet Union.
• The Hunt: As Detective Ronald Murtaugh investigates Knightmare's trail, Don Carbone orders Jack Logan to find and eliminate the vigilante.
