Lobo: In the Chair #1 (August 1994) is a "twisted and irreverent" DC Comics one-shot that follows the "Main Man" as his rare attempt at self-care leads to a disastrously violent "bad hair day".
Story Synopsis
After spending two months bounty hunting on a harsh, remote planet, Lobo returns to collect his rewards with a wagon full of rotting corpses.
- The Problem: Lobo is filthy, smelly, and exhausted from his trek. Before celebrating with booze and smokes, he decides to "freshen up" at a local barber shop called Sharps.
- The Conflict: While he is in the barber's chair with his guard down, the Winter Brothers—the only outlaws he failed to capture on his recent mission—crawl out of the woodwork to exact revenge.
- The Result: The brothers subject Lobo to acts "too horrible to contemplate," specifically targeting his signature hair. This leads to a typical Lobo-style rampage as he deals with his attackers while in his full-body barber's smock.
