Lobo: Infanticide #1 (October 1992) is the premier issue of a darkly comedic, four-issue miniseries published by DC Comics. Plotted and illustrated by Lobo's co-creator Keith Giffen, with a script by longtime series writer Alan Grant, this landmark series centers on the ultimate, dysfunctional family feud: all of Lobo's illegitimate children uniting to assassinate their deadbeat father.

Plot Overview: "The Theory of Relativity"

As the Last Czarnian, Lobo famously slaughtered his entire home world, but his decades of tearing across the galaxy left behind a trail of abandoned hookups.

  • The Bastard Army: The issue introduces the "legion of illegitimate children of Lobo," a massive group of galactic pariahs who are hated, cast out by society, and deeply resentful of their marauding father.
  • The Mastermind: One of his fiercely intelligent daughters, Su Lehmon, decides enough is enough. She organizes a coalition of over a hundred of Lobo's abandoned sons and daughters to plot the ultimate revenge.
  • The Draft Trap: Knowing that a direct physical assault on the Main Man is suicide, Su drafts a meticulous strategy. To ensure Lobo is isolated in a specific place at a specific time, she pulls political strings and arranges to have Lobo legally drafted into the planetary military army.

Tone & Artistic Direction

This issue perfectly captures the peak 1990s counter-culture era of Lobo, blending intense sci-fi violence with pure satirical farce. Keith Giffen utilizes his signature, heavily stylized, and experimental panel layouts to highlight the bizarre, grotesque physical traits passed down from Lobo to his multi-species hybrid children.
