Martian Manhunter # 1 2015 NM-

Martian Manhunter # 1, released in June 2015, launched a 12-issue limited series that significantly reimagined J'onn J'onzz's origins and connection to Earth. Written by Rob Williams with art by Eddy Barrows, the issue initiates a story arc titled "The Epiphany," where everything J'onn believed about his past is revealed to be a lie. 

Story Synopsis: "The Epiphany" 

The issue portrays the Martian Manhunter as a more alien and isolated figure than previous incarnations, dealing with a mysterious global threat. 

• Global Terror: A series of synchronized, ideological terrorist attacks erupt across the globe, referred to as "The Epiphany". J'onn realizes these attacks are actually a coordinated Martian invasion of Earth.
• The Shocking Revelation: J'onn discovers that he was originally sent to Earth as a sleeper agent and spy for Mars to prepare the planet for this conquest, rather than being its accidental last survivor.
• A Drastic Choice: To prevent his own mind and powers from being used as a weapon by the invaders, J'onn takes the extreme step of destroying himself. He scatters his consciousness into multiple "fragments"—different personas unaware of their true identity.
• New Characters: The issue introduces Mr. Biscuits, a strange, eight-foot-tall green alien hiding in a rundown building in Florida who befriends a young girl named Alicia. It is later revealed that Mr. Biscuits is one of the fragmented aspects of J'onn’s consciousness.
