Marvel Comics Presents # 97, published in March 1992, is an anthology issue featuring several stories, including the fifth part of the "Wild Frontier" Wolverine storyline, where he battles the mystical serpent Uncegila alongside a blind Indian boy named Blind Owl.
Wolverine Story: "Wild Frontier: Blind Fury"
- Plot: The story, written by Timothy Truman, continues Wolverine's time in a Blackfoot Indian camp during the past. He is sent by the medicine man, Old Wolf Heart, to kill the mystical creature known as Uncegila, a monstrous serpent.
- The Mission: Old Wolf Heart insists that a young, blind Indian boy, later named as Blind Owl, must accompany Logan. The medicine man explains that Uncegila can kill anyone who looks at its face, making the blind boy the only one who can safely confront it directly.
- Confrontation: Logan, though initially resistant to bringing the boy, leads him to Uncegila's cave. As the beast rises to attack, Blind Owl covers Logan's eyes, preparing to face the monster without fear of its death-gaze. The story ends on this cliffhanger, to be continued in the next issue.
The anthology nature of the comic includes other short tales:
- Ghost Rider and Cable: In the final part of their eight-part story "Servants of the Dead", Ghost Rider (Dan Ketch) and Cable team up to fight the "God of the Dead" within the Cathedral of the Dead. They discover the "God" is a human who became corrupted, and the two heroes depart as allies after the ordeal.
- Silver Surfer: The Silver Surfer is featured in a story titled "Collision Course", where he gets trapped in a hyperwave but is saved by Mister Fantastic.
- Bar With No Name: A short, humor-tinged story, "Where Everyone Knows Your Alias...", features a bar where various D-list villains, such as Angar the Screamer, Electro, and Princess Python, gather.
