Marvel’s Hellstorm: Prince of Lies # 1, released in April 1993, rebranded Daimon Hellstrom for the "grim and gritty" 90s, shifting him from a traditional superhero into a darker, supernatural occultist. 

"Storm Clouds" 

• The Identity Theft: An occult investigation reveals that a minor demon has escaped Hell and is impersonating Daimon Hellstrom on Earth.
• The Black School: This imposter has established himself as the head cleric of the "Black School," a cult for the dark mystic arts.
• The Confrontation: The real Son of Satan breaks out of Hell to reclaim his name. Using his hellfire trident, he battles and eventually defeats the doppelganger, sending the demon back to his father's realm.
• Allies & Rivals: The issue features Gabriel the Devil-Hunter, who initially pursues the fake Hellstrom but eventually bonds with the real Daimon. It also features Daimon's wife, Seripha Thames, who blames the real Daimon for the "death" of the imposter she believed was her husband.
