Marvel Zombies # 1 (2015) is a four-issue tie-in series for the Secret Wars event, focusing on the defense of the Wall that separates the civilized domains of Battleworld from the zombie-infested Deadlands.

• Protagonist: Elsa Bloodstone, a monster hunter tasked with guarding "the Shield" (a massive wall) to prevent zombie hordes from overrunning other domains.
• Plot: While stationed at the Wall, Elsa finds a human child stranded in the zombie-infested Deadlands. She chooses to abandon her post to rescue the girl, forcing her to traverse a landscape of undead monsters—including a zombie version of her father, Ulysses Bloodstone—while dealing with traumatic memories of her upbringing.
