Marvel Zombies 2 # 1 2007 NM-

Marvel Zombies 2 # 1, published in December 2007, is the first issue of the five-part sequel miniseries, picking up 40 years after the original with the cosmic-powered zombies returning to an Earth that hosts the last human survivors. 

The issue is split between the zombie "Galacti" traveling through space and the human survivors on Earth.

• Cosmic Hunger: Forty years after leaving Earth, the zombies (including Spider-Man, Giant-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, and Iron Man, now possessing the Power Cosmic) have consumed all life in their universe. An argument over the diminishing food supply leads to the Hulk smashing Thanos' head.
• The Journey Home: With nothing left to eat, Giant-Man and Iron Man recall Reed Richards' inter-dimensional portal and decide to return to Earth to use it to find a new universe.
• Fading Hunger: During the journey back, Spider-Man suggests to Luke Cage that their insatiable hunger may be fading the longer they go without feeding. On the way, they encounter and devour Ego the Living Planet.
• New Wakanda: On Earth, a human colony called New Wakanda has been established, led by an aging Black Panther. The colony includes a "cured" Wasp, whose head is attached to a robotic body, and the newly discovered, also-cured, head of Hawkeye.
• The Assassination Attempt: Political tensions brew as the Acolytes, led by Malcolm Cortez, plan to overthrow Black Panther. An assassin attempts to murder Black Panther, but Wasp saves his life by biting him and infecting him with the zombie virus. They eat the assassin and lock themselves in a cell to wait out the hunger.
• Cliffhanger: As the issue ends, the cosmic-powered zombies are rapidly approaching Earth.
