Murder Podcast # 1 Ashcan 2025 BN

Murder Podcast #1 Ashcan 2025 is a promotional preview comic released by the new publisher Ignition Press to introduce its debut horror series, Murder Podcast. The series is co-created and written by Jeremy Haun (The Beauty, The Realm) with art by animation veteran Mike Tisserand. 

Premise and Plot 

The story explores the dark side of true crime obsession. 

• The Hook: A mysterious podcast called Dead Sounds—one that listeners don't remember subscribing to—suddenly appears in their phone feeds.
• The Curse: When listeners play the podcast, they are overtaken by an uncontrollable "murderous urge" that only stops once the killer is stopped.
• The Protagonists: The narrative follows Mina and her tight-knit group of friends who are avid true crime fans. Initially, they treat these new gruesome killings as gossip fodder, unaware that the violence is creeping closer to their own lives. 

The Ashcan Edition 

• Release: The ashcan was released as a "Cold Open" or early preview ahead of the main series launch on September 10, 2025.
• Content: It typically contains a self-contained 12-page vignette or preview art that establishes the series' eerie tone and stakes.
• Format: A 32-page, full-color single issue.
