Core Plot & Synopsis

The horror series takes place on Misery Island, a remote village off the coast of Salem, Massachusetts. The island has been overrun by a mysterious, hyper-aggressive species of monarch-like butterflies that crave human blood instead of plant nectar. In issue #2:

• The Spread of the Plague: The deadly butterfly infestation rapidly multiplies across the island. More villagers are stung by the insects, falling prey to their toxic, mind-altering venom known as the "Dancing Plague".
• Religious Backlash: As panic and paranoia consume the small community, the village reverend exploits the fear. He actively rallies his desperate flock to aggressively purge what he names a "demonic plague".
• A Community Divided: Looking for a immediate human target to blame, the reverend and his followers turn their sights violently on Amos Hall, the local man they hold entirely responsible for bringing the nightmare onto the island.
