Phantom Lady and Doll Man # 1, released by DC Comics on August 29, 2012 (cover-dated October 2012), is the first of a four-issue limited series. Part of the New 52 initiative, it reimagines the classic Freedom Fighter characters for a modern "superhero noir" setting.
The debut issue, titled "Too Dangerous For a Girl," establishes a gritty origin story centered on vengeance and street-level crime in Metropolis.
