RoboCop versus Terminator #4 1992 the final issue of the miniseries, RoboCop launches an assault on Skynet in the future, ultimately traveling back to his own time to destroy Skynet's earliest form and prevent the dystopian future from ever occurring.

  • Future War: Trapped in the machine-ruled future, the "future" version of RoboCop (Alex Murphy's consciousness in a new, powerful body) leads a massive, flying army of hybrid RoboCop-Terminators in a full-scale war against Skynet's forces.
  • Infiltration: While the battle rages outside the main facility, the original Alex Murphy consciousness and a small group of human resistance fighters sneak inside the Skynet compound.
  • Final Mission: RoboCop's final phase is to use Terminator time-displacement technology to send himself back to his own time (the past) to destroy the as-yet-unaware Skynet computer before it becomes sentient.
  • Averted Future: The time-displaced RoboCop arrives in the past, finds Skynet's earliest iteration (a spy satellite), and destroys it. Upon the satellite's explosion, the future is fundamentally altered, and that version of RoboCop fades from existence.
  • Peaceful Resolution: In the corrected timeline, the original, modern-day RoboCop feels an unexplained sense of peace and returns to his duties at the Detroit Police Department, unburdened by the looming catastrophe. The last remaining Terminator sent to the past overshoots the human era and is crushed by a dinosaur in the Mesozoic Era.
