Secret Origins # 3 2014 NM-

Secret Origins # 3, released on June 25, 2014, is a key issue in the 2014–2015 Secret Origins anthology series. Published as part of The New 52 initiative, it provides updated origin stories for three prominent DC characters to align with the post-Flashpoint continuity. 

The issue is split into three distinct narrative segments: 

• Green Lantern (Hal Jordan): "Freedom From Fear"
• Plot: Revisits the seminal moment when test pilot Hal Jordan is chosen by the dying alien Abin Sur to inherit his power ring. It highlights Hal's early struggles with authority and his transformation through the two most significant "crashes" in his life—the one that killed his father and the one that made him a hero.

• Batwoman (Kate Kane): "Blood Money"
• Plot: Details Kate Kane's dismissal from West Point due to her homosexuality and her subsequent search for purpose. Inspired by an encounter with Batman, she begins training herself to fight crime, eventually gaining her father’s support and her iconic gear.

• Red Robin (Tim Drake): "Secret Identity"
• Plot: This origin highlights Tim Drake's unique start; he does not assume the original Robin mantle out of respect for the late Jason Todd. After his detective skills lead him to Batman's true identity, he goes to extreme lengths to gain the Dark Knight's attention, ultimately joining him as Red Robin.
