Plot Overview 

Following Waller's attempt to eliminate metahumans, she is imprisoned in Belle Reve. However, the story is set in motion when Dreamer (Nia Nal), Jon Kent (Superman), and Jay Nakamura (Gossamer) discover she has vanished from her cell. To recover her—and the world-changing intelligence she carries—they are forced into a fragile alliance with three villains historically linked to her: Deadshot, Catman, and Black Alice. 

Key Characters and Dynamics 

The team is defined by deep personal trauma and mutual resentment: 

• The Heroes: Jon Kent and Jay Nakamura are a couple, but they are at odds over Nia Nal. Jay blames Nia for her role in Waller's Suicide Squad, which led to the death of his mother and the conquest of his country, Gamorra.
• The Villains: The issue reintroduces classic Secret Six members Deadshot and Catman, though they primarily appear at the end of the first issue. Black Alice, a magic-stealing former member, joins the heroes early on after helping them escape a tactical squad at the prison.
