Silver Surfer # 1 2014 VF/NM

Silver Surfer # 1 (2014) is the first issue of a new series that shifts the character's direction toward light-hearted, cosmic adventures, introducing the Earth girl Dawn Greenwood as his new companion.

The issue, with a story titled "New Dawn", introduces a fresh premise that is more whimsical and less brooding than past Silver Surfer stories, often described as having a Doctor Who-like "Doctor and companion" dynamic. 

• Introduction of Dawn Greenwood: The story opens with twin sisters Dawn and Eve Greenwood making wishes on what turns out to be the Silver Surfer scouting Earth for Galactus years prior. Dawn is content with her simple life running a bed and breakfast in Anchor Bay, Massachusetts, contrasting with her sister Eve's desire for travel.
• The Impericon's Champion: Elsewhere in the universe, the Silver Surfer, now a known hero who helps people throughout the galaxy, is recruited by an entity called the Motivator to be a champion for the floating, planet-sized city of the Impericon. The Impericon is under threat from a powerful villainess known as the Never Queen.
• The Motivator's Hostage: To "motivate" its chosen champion, the Motivator abducts the single most important person in the hero's life.
• The Surfer's Surprise: When the Motivator reveals its hostage to the Silver Surfer, showing a distressed Dawn, the Surfer denies knowing her, in an attempt to protect her.
• The Journey Begins: The issue ends with Dawn now trapped and in the cosmic realm, setting up her future as the Silver Surfer's companion on his universal adventures.
