Sleepwalker # 25, published in June 1993, is the final issue of the series and serves as a major turning point for the character, concluding the ongoing storyline while leaving the door open for future appearances. 

The issue concludes the "Nightmares of Sleepwalker" arc, which involved a major battle against the villain Nightmare and other dream-based threats.

• The Final Confrontation: Sleepwalker, along with Rick Sheridan (his human host), faces Nightmare in a final, climactic battle that takes place within the Dream Dimension and the real world.
• A Shift in Dynamic: The resolution to the conflict results in a major change to the character's status quo. Sleepwalker and Rick Sheridan's connection is permanently altered. Instead of one body being inactive while the other is conscious, they are now able to coexist and switch places more seamlessly.
