Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood # 1 2024 NM-

Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood #1, released on August 7, 2024, is the debut of a four-part anthology series celebrating the 40th anniversary of Spider-Man's iconic black costume. Following the "Black, White & Blood" format used for characters like Wolverine and Darth Vader, it presents untold stories in a stark color palette of only black, white, and red. 

Issue #1 Stories & Creative Teams

The first issue features four distinct tales exploring different eras of the black suit: 

• "Losing Face": Written by J.M. DeMatteis with art by Elena Casagrande, this story revisits the timeframe of the masterpiece Kraven’s Last Hunt. It explores Peter's relationship with a low-level snitch and is the only story in the issue to feature the non-symbiote cloth version of the black suit.
• "Dysmorphia": Written and illustrated by Dustin Nguyen, this "spine-chilling" tale depicts Spider-Man being hunted by a danger that comes from within—the symbiote itself.
• "Inside the House": Written by J. Michael Straczynski with art by Sumit Kumar, this story is told from Mary Jane Watson's paranoid perspective as she realizes how the symbiote Peter brought home is changing him.
• "Fade to Black": A story set on the anniversary of Peter first bonding with the alien suit on Battleworld, showing the symbiote's attempt to reunite with him.
