Story Summary

The issue concludes the search for Jessica Drew’s father, Jonathan Drew. 

  • The Murderer: Jessica and her S.H.I.E.L.D. partner/lover, Jerry Hunt, use a S.H.I.E.L.D. supercomputer to discover that Pyrotechnics Inc. is involved in her father's death.
  • The Villain: They track the lead to Senator James Wyatt, who reveals he had Jonathan Drew kidnapped and murdered to steal his radiation-immunity vaccine.
  • The Plot: Wyatt plans to launch a "neutron device" on July 4th that would kill everyone except his own soldiers, who have been inoculated with the stolen vaccine.
  • The Resolution: During a raid by S.H.I.E.L.D., Wyatt is killed by Jerry Hunt before he can detonate the device, but he manages to trigger a base self-destruct sequence, which Jessica and Jerry narrowly escape.
