Star Wars #1 for 2025 is the relaunch of Marvel's flagship ongoing series, released on May 7, 2025. Written by Alex Segura and illustrated by Phil Noto, this series marks a significant shift in the timeline, moving past the original trilogy to explore the early years of the New Republic. 

Plot and Setting

Set approximately two years after Return of the Jedi (around 6 ABY), the story begins after the definitive end of the Galactic Civil War at the Battle of Jakku. 

• Luke Skywalker: Facing a "darkness" he hasn't felt since Dagobah, Luke must defend the fledgling New Republic from a bloodthirsty gang of mercenaries while beginning his early efforts to restore the Jedi Order.
• Leia Organa: As a leader of the New Republic, Leia navigates a fragile political landscape, dealing with a new alliance of frontier worlds that opposes the Republic's goals and views them as just another occupying power.
• Han Solo: Investigating a deadly underworld mystery involving contraband shipments, Han descends into smuggler territory and rescues an "unexpected ally" familiar to fans of previous Marvel Star Wars comics.
